What Psychedelics Taught Me about Looking Inward

Carl Jung famously observed, “Until you make the unconscious conscious, it will direct your life and you will call it fate.” This insight speaks to the way many of us move through life, guided by unconscious patterns and internalized beliefs that quietly shape our choices while remaining outside our awareness.

Before my first experience with psychedelics, I approached life with what I now recognize as blissful ignorance. When challenges arose, I unconsciously placed the responsibility on others. I would say that people “pushed against me” or “didn’t understand,” when in reality I was rarely looking inward to examine how my own patterns were shaping my experiences.

Turning Inward Isn’t Easy, But Necessary.

Psychedelics showed me something subtle but profound: the ideas I had projected onto the world, the frustrations, judgments, and blame were often reflections of internal imbalances. My outer conflicts were rooted in my inner world, and my patterns of thought and behavior were influencing how life unfolded. Looking inward requires courage. It is the willingness to face ourselves honestly that create the conditions for real change.

Alternative holistic options of therapy such as psilocybin, offer a distinctive way of turning inward and orienting yourself to the root of what makes you you, and in the same light, resolve cognitive dissonance, illuminating how who you are could better align with who you feel called to become.

What is Psilocybin Therapy?

Psilocybin therapy involves the supervised use of psilocybin, the active compound in "magic mushrooms", to assist individuals with various mental health challenges, including depression, PTSD, and anxiety.
